A NATURE reserve had its “best ever” turnout of visitors at an open day.
The Bourne branch of the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust held an open day at the Deeping Lakes nature reserve in Deeping St James on Sunday.
A steady stream of visitors explored the reserve during the day, which featured activities for youngsters and stalls for adults.
The lakes are maintained by a team of volunteers and the day was held in part to raise funds for the reserve. The committee is still working out how much was donated.
Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust committee member, Chris Bladon, said: “It went very well.
“ I don’t know exactly how many people came because they came from different directions all day but it was one of the best-attended days we have ever had.”
