Children from a nursery school have getting out and about to plant trees.

Pupils at The Ark Nursery in Foundry Road, Stamford, have been making regular trips to their “forest school” in Ketton to plant trees donated by the Woodland
Trust.

Each child at the nursery will eventually plant their own tree and then be responsible for its up keep and care.

On Thursday last week some of the youngsters picked up their spades to help plant eight trees.

Manager Helen Watson said: “The children absolutely love planting the trees .

“We feel it is important to get the children out into the environment because they don’t get a chance to do it as much as they used to.”
