High Street support for Stamford Transition Town’s bottle project

A CAMPAIGN to rid a town of plastic bottles is gathering support.

Stamford Transition Town’s Bottling Out campaign encourages people to fill up their own aluminium or polycarbonate bottles at participating shops.

The group says that chemicals from plastic bottles bought in shops leak into the water and cause health risks.

And more than 10 businesses in the town have already agreed to help, including Thomas Cook, Millets, Pet’s Corner and Vision Express.

Anglian Water has also agreed to support the scheme by sponsoring an aluminium bottle.
