South Kesteven District Council adopts wind turbine policy

Councillors have a new set of guidelines to help them make decisions on wind turbine plans.

South Kesteven District Council’s cabinet voted to approve the wind energy supplementary planning document at a meeting on Monday.

The new policy contains guidelines to help councillors on the development control committee make decisions on wind turbine planning applications.

The document was put out to public consultation before it was approved by the cabinet.

It takes several factors into consideration, including the impact of the turbine structure itself along with any associated groundwork.

The policy does not include a minimum distance from homes or businesses.
