FAMILIES turned out for an activity day at Barnsdale Lodge Hotel, Exton, to raise funds for charity.

The event yesterday (Sunday) featured bumper cars, a rifle range and bouncy castle and raised more than £500 for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

The institution also had a lifeboat on display for visitors who were able to have their photo taken with it.

It was the third time the Rutland branch of the institution had hosted the event at the venue.

Mayor of Oakham Councillor Alf Dewis opened the event and visited the stalls and attractions on show.
