People who are interested in volunteering for Stamford-based care charity the Evergreen Care Trust are being invited to an open evening.

Evergreen meet on the first Thursday of the month at the Cosy Club in Sheep Market, Stamford. The next meeting will be on July 7 between 6pm and 7pm where anyone interested in finding out more can have a free tea, coffee or soft drink, and chat about the opportunities available.

Volunteer and marketing co-ordinator for Evergreen Rosie Maclennan said: “It’s difficult to sum up the numerous benefits of volunteering for Evergreen because there are so many.

“We have a wonderful team of volunteers, all of whom have benefited in different ways and given our members invaluable support.

“Volunteering is great for mind and soul, it genuinely makes you feel good, and it’s a fantastic way to meet new friends, increase skills, learn more and be part of a dynamic, fun and friendly team.”

Evergreen is going from strength to strength and needs local volunteers to help support the increasing needs of residents in
Stamford, Bourne and
The Deepings.

For some of the charity’s 600 members life has many challenges but Evergreen makes an incredible difference.

Volunteering at Evergreen can range from befriending, helping at their Evergreen lunches, reviewing services, marketing and office administrational support and lots more. There is something for everyone.

All volunteers of the Evergreen Care Trust are given free of charge training and support.

If you can’t make the evening at The Cosy Club, call Rosie Maclennan or Yvette Powell on 01780 765900 to find out more.
