Firefighters called to swimming pool in Oakham after wrong chemicals mixed together

Firefighters were called to a property in Stamford Road, Oakham, at about 7pm on Friday after two chemicals were wrongly mixed in a swimming pool.

Calcium hypochlorite was mixed with water instead of sodium bisulfite. No-one was harmed but the pool had to be closed until the problem was resolved.

Firefighters gave advice to the owners of the pool on how to store the chemicals.
