Firefighters are staging a four-hour strike today (Wednesday) in a row over pensions.
Crews from Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service will take part in the strike action between midday and 4pm.
They are campaigning against Government proposals to increase their pension age from 55 to 60.
The Fire Brigades Union says the idea is “ludicrous” as firefighters will be forced to work longer than they are physically able to or have to retire early without a pension.
Members of the public have been assured that plans are in place to provide cover for life-threatening situations during the strike.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service has seven appliances covering the county.
