A HOSPICE is challenging slimmers to shape up to help patients with a terminal disease.

St Barnabas Hospice is working with Westside Health and Fitness Club in Stamford to raise money for its palliative care and bereavement services through the Shape Up and Slim programme.

The club is giving 10 people a free 12-week gym membership but the slimmers must raise at least £100.

The person whose fitness improves the most will be given a free year’s membership.

The programme starts on Thursday, February 24, and sessions are held on Thursdays.

Fundraiser Hannah Thompson said: “We challenge you in return to raise a minimum of £100 for St Barnabas Hospice. You will be supported through the whole journey from first to final weigh-in.”
