Flood warnings in place across the area

Flood warnings are in place across the area following heavy rain this morning (Monday).

There are flood alerts in place in southern areas of Rutland, parts of Stamford, and villages in Lincolnshire, as well as a severe warning in North Witham.

In Rutland, the Environment Agency has issued alerts in Caldecott, Thorpe-by-Water, Harringworth and Tinwell.

Main Street in Whissendine has flooded and has been closed by Rutland County Council until further notice.

There have also been reports of flash flooding in Empingham and Cottesmore.

In Lincolnshire, alerts are in place in South Witham, Little Bytham, Castle Bytham where Swayfield Road is closed, Carlby, Essendine, Greatford, Manthorpe, Witham-on-the-Hill and Toft.

Alerts have also been issued in Northamptonshire villages, including Wakerley, Duddington and Collyweston.

The A1 between Colsterworth and Grantham had closed due to flooding between the junction of the A52 and the B6403 High Dyke Road. It has now reopened in both directions.
