THE Macmillan Big Walk was no challenge for four friends from Bourne Westfield Primary Academy who took part and raised nearly £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Rosenna Clark and three of her best friends from Year 5, Millie Parker, Core Downing and Ellie Gabbutt, all aged nine, walked more than 10 miles on Saturday for the Big Walk at Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire in aid of the charity.
Rosenna had made a New Year’s resolution to climb a mountain for charity with her friends. When she found out about the Big Walk, Roseanna and her parents Alison and Darren, of Orchard Close, Bourne, decided this would be the event to make her resolution come true.
On the day they wore special T-shirts and green wigs. It took four and half hours to walk but they all managed to run across the finish line with big smiles!
