Two youngsters cycled around Rutland Water to raise money for a good cause.

Amelia Hubbard, from Lyndon, pictured above left, and her friend Jennifer Dancy, from Barrowden, pedalled for three hours, to raise funds for WaterAid.

The girls, both aged 12, raised £550 for the charity, which carries out projects overseas to help people get access to clean water.

They were supported by King’s Cliffe-based company Augean.

Derek Dancy said his daughter Jennifer, a pupil at The King’s School in Peterborough, and Amelia, a Oakham School pupil, often took part in charity events.

He said the girls were extremely grateful to everyone who sponsored and encouraged them.
