Golf course plan is rejected

PLANS to build a nine-hole golf course have been bunkered.

South Kesteven District Council rejected the application for the course to the west of Witham-on-the-Hill on Tuesday.

Councillors said the course, with a 15 space car park and two pedestrian bridges, would create too much traffic in the village.

Three letters of objection were sent to the district council about the plans with worries about highway safety, agricultural land no longer being used and that there are other golf courses nearby.

Robert and Siobhan Hazelwood, from Ropsley near Grantham, who submitted the plans, were unavailable to comment.
