A group of people will be running the Great Eastern Run in Peterborough on Sunday for a man who beat cancer.

Penny Lamb, 36, of Fir Avenue, Bourne, along with a group of eight friends will be taking part in the half marathon to raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research after her husband Richard, 32, was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma last year.

Richard is now free of the disease and will be running the 5km fun run with the couple’s sons Benjamin, six, and Joshua, five, both pupils at Bourne Westfield Primary Academy.

Richard, a member of Bourne Wheelers, also completed a 125km bike ride on Sunday to raise funds and the group are hoping to raise £2,000 for the charity, so people who have the disease can get the “same positive outcome”.
