A half marathon runner raised £2,600 for an over 60s lunch club.

Alison Ward ran the New Forest half marathon and donated the money to Age Concern Deeping, which hosts the Benedicts Luncheon Club.

She ran in memory of her grandmother Jean Sexton, of Deeping St James, who used to attend the lunch club.

Alison, who lives in the New Forest, was supported by her employer LV= which donated £500.

She said: “I am delighted to have finished and raised such a substantial amount to aid Age Concern Deeping and thank them for giving my Nan so much pleasure during her time with them.”
