Harpists put on end of year concert in Ryhall

Pupils of Stamford harp player and teacher Eleanor Turner got together for a concert to celebrate their hard work and achievement throughout the year. Players from the age of eight upwards performed, as did Eleanor herelf, in Ryhall Village Hall on Sunday, December 1.

Highlights were Sylvana Labeyrie’s rendition of Georges Enesco’s Allegro de Concert, a piece renowned as almost impossible to play on a harp, Isolde Small singing and playing Little Donkey and Stamford High School’s Abigail Martin performing a duet of The Entertainer by Scott Joplin with Eleanor. Other performers were Eleanor’s son, Iñaky Turner, Jessica Farmer, Nazneen Birdi, Zoe Bertuzzi, Antonia Webster, Caitlin Harrison, Ruth Lee, Imogen Fell, Marjorie Port, Georgina Taylor, Lydia Stevens and Debbie Oxberry.
