A CARE home celebrated two landmark anniversaries with residents, staff and families.

Digby Court in Christopher’s Lane, Bourne, hosted a party on Saturday for its 47th birthday, with entertainment, drinks, a buffet and dancing.

The home also marked 20 years of membership to the Orders of St John Care Trust, a not-for-profit charity which provides care for the elderly.

Current residents were joined in the celebrations by staff and volunteers, along with families of former residents.

Pictures of residents and staff from up to 30 years ago were projected onto the wall and plenty of people were fascinated by the slideshow.

Activities co-ordinator at Digby Court, Maria Fryer, said the party was a success. She said: “A lot of the residents were up dancing and a lot of stories were going round. It was a really nice atmosphere.

“There is a good ethos behind the home which is translated down into what we do with the residents.”
