Has it been a long time since you rode a bike? Then Get Back in the Saddle at Rutland Water.

The event which is aimed at encouraging people of all ages to get on their bikes, will be hosted by tour operators Freewheel Holidays on Sunday, September 14 at Whitwell, on the North Shore of Rutland Water. It is ideal for anyone who has not ridden a bike for some years.

“This could be the perfect opportunity to re-discover the simple pleasure of cycling,” a spokesman for the Leicester based company said. “The shores of Rutland Water provide a beautiful, sheltered setting for a variety of routes.”
Rides range from 5 miles to 17 miles. Bike hire is free for children. Adult prices start from £5 for a two-hour hire.

Those taking part can also bring along their own bikes. Participants will get free goody bags and the chance to make their own smoothie using a pedal-powered smoothie maker.

The event runs from 10.30am to 4.30pm, starting at the North Shore Car Park in Bull Brigg Lane, Whitwell, Rutland Water.
