Bourne Abbots Petanque club is on the hunt for new members to take up the game.
Petanque was born in the south of France and is now played in over 65 nations. Petanque is a similar concept to English Lawn bowls except it is played on compacted gravel and you throw the ball as opposed to rolling it.
The Bourne club is located on the Abbey Lawn and has enough room to have 11 games running at the same time.
At the moment the club has about 30 members but is encouraging more people to enjoy this social, fun and tactical sporting activity suitable for all ages.
Anyone wanting to give petanque a try should contact the club for more information or turn up at one of the club session at 2pm Wednesdays and Sundays.
The club is happy to let new people borrow a set of boules and you can go for up to three sessions without committing to join.
The annual joining fee is £15 for adults and £5 for U18s.
