A CEREMONY has been held to mark the official opening of a new £1.1m GP surgery.

Market Cross Surgery in Bourne Road, Corby Glen, was formally opened to the public by Drs Ann and Sandy Surtees.

The new centre, which was built by healthcare facility developer MedicX, has five consulting rooms, a treatment room, minor surgery and minor injury facilities and a dispensary along with space for the community nursing team and health visitors.

Practice partner Dr John Elder said: “The building looks fantastic and we would like to thank Corby Glen Parish Council, Coun Martin Hill from Lincolnshire County Council, NHS Lincolnshire and MedicX for all their help in supporting us to achieve a long held goal for the practice, our registered patients and the local community.”

MedicX development manager, Jemma Whetton, added “Modern healthcare centres, that can be delivered within budget and provide value for money, are essential for local communities.”
