An MP has praised a growing home care company for finding success as a new business in a tough economic climate.

Stamford and Bourne MP
Nick Boles visited Bluebird Care in St Mary’s Hill, Stamford, on Friday last
week.

He spoke to company directors Tim Carey and Leisa MacKenzie about the challenges of starting a new business.

They also discussed the kind of care the company provides.

Mr Boles said: “It is great to see, firstly, a new business based in Stamford growing fast during difficult economic times and increasing the number of people it is employing.

“It shows there are good things happening and businesses starting up.

“It was great to see what they are doing, which is providing this vital service
for which there is ever going to be an increasing
demand.”

Bluebird Care is part of a franchise business, so directors of the Stamford branch were on solid ground when they began.

Mr Boles added: “It is a very good model because someone has been through the process and seen what works. They have done a terrific job in Stamford.”

Mr Carey said: “It was a great opportunity to be able to talk with Nick both as a local growing business employing and providing a service to the local community and also as a home care provider.

“Nick seemed genuinely interested and impressed with both what we have achieved but also in what we do and the importance of quality care.”
