MEMBERS of a dementia support group have met an MP to discuss its services.

The Dementia Support South Lincs group invited John Hayes, the Minister of State for Further Education, Skills and Lifelong Learning, to a coffee morning to meet members of the group and question him on national issues regarding dementia services.

More than 20 members attended the meeting which was held at Deeping Community Centre on Friday.

Group chairman Heather Gilling said: “The meeting went very well. We introduced ourselves to John and spoke about how we run, what we are doing and asked him about what’s happening to dementia services nationally.

“It was a very worthwhile exercise and hopefully the first of many meetings with John.”

The independently run group was formed in 2010 to help support people living with dementia.
