A MAN is in hospital with spine and head injuries after falling from a 40ft ladder.

The 40-year-old was carrying out repair work on a house in Easton-on-the-Hill at about 2pm on Friday when he fell from the ladder onto a concrete floor.

Paramedics from the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance rushed to the scene to help the man who had injured his head, suffered a suspected spinal injury and lost blood after the fall.

He was taken to University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire for treatment. No update has been given on his condition.

An air ambulance spokesman said: “It was important to get the casualty to a major trauma centre as soon as possible because of the potential of his injuries to develop into very serious ones.”
