A NEW mental health drop-in centre has officially opened its doors.
Bourne Wellbeing and Mental Health Support Group formed after Lincolnshire County Council withdrew funding for the Bourne South Lincolnshire Mind centre last month.
Members acted quickly and opened a new centre in Wake House, North Street, Bourne.
The new group officially formed at a ceremony on Tuesday.
Group secretary Brian Cannell said: “During its first two weeks of operation the group has already attracted several new members, proving the need for a facility in Bourne and district for people with mental health problems.
“We would like to say thank you to South Lincs Mind for their decision to allow us to have the furniture and other items that were loaned by members to the old centre.”
The new centre is open Monday and Friday 10am-2pm and Tuesday and Thursday 10am-3pm.
The group is in need of volunteers and funding. If you think you can help, contact Mr Cannell on 07594 858 131 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
