Maternity staff are celebrating the Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals Trust receiving full accreditation from the Unicef Baby Friendly Initiative.
The award is part of a worldwide programme by the World Health Organization to implement the The Baby Friendly Initiative to encourage women to breastfeed and increase the overall breatsfeeding rates.
Infant feeding coordinator Roberta Roulstone said: “We have worked extremely hard to ensure we give mothers the support, information and encouragement they need.
“The hospital has achieved level three status alongside our local clinical commissioning group.
“So we are thrilled that both the hospital and the community can now provide such a high level of support for breastfeeding, which will hopefully result in higher success rates across the city.”
