Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals Trust appealing for return of mobility equipment

A HOSPITAL trust is calling on patients to return medical equipment they no longer use

Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals Trust is running an equipment amnesty between today and Sunday, August 7, to encourage patients to return equipment, and save the trust money.

There are currently more than 100 patients with mobility and toileting equipment which has not been returned.

The equipment includes commodes, combined toilet seat and frame, raised toilet seats, toilet frames, along with crutches, zimmer frame, walking sticks and kitchen trolleys.

The trust will be shedding 300 jobs as it tries to cut costs. Its finances could spiral to be £38m in the red by April, 2012.

People can return equipment to the main reception desks at Peterborough City Hospital or Stamford Hospital.

To arrange collection of any equipment call 01733 673670 or leave a message on 01733 673683.
