A MAN has died in a outbreak of flu which has left a hospital at breaking point.
Steve Randall, 52, of Stamford Road, Market Deeping, was one of two people who have died of flu at Peterborough City Hospital since the beginning of November.
He died of pneumonia and swine flu on December 21.
The £289m hospital, which opened in November, is operating at full capacity with all its 612 beds in use. This is partly because of an influx of patients suffering from illnesses such as swine flu, seasonal flu and the winter vomiting bug.
There have been two confirmed deaths of flu at the hospital while flu viruses are suspected to have been behind two more.
