A charity that helps people with dementia has called on people to vote for it and help secure a grant of up to £3,000.

Dementia Support South Lincs, which operates in Bourne and the wider South Kesteven district, has been nominated for the Lloyds Bank Community Fund 2014 in the Grantham community area.

The charity now needs public votes to help secure the funding.

Chairman Heather Gilling said: “The Lloyds Bank Community Fund will make a huge difference by enabling us to develop the programme of activities which our members love because they are enjoyable, but which also help boost their self-esteem and wellbeing. Please vote for us to help us continue our work in the local community.”

Dementia Support South Lincs supports more than 200 families who are living with dementia through a range of activities. Particularly popular are the arts-related sessions which members find fun – but which also have a therapeutic value both for those with dementia and their carers.
