A PICTORIAL history of Bourne Abbey Church has been produced.

Historian Rex Needle, who lives in Bourne, has put together the DVD to show how the church has developed over the past nine centuries.

It was founded as a monastic house in 1138 and is now the parish church of St Peter and St Paul, better known as Bourne Abbey, and is the town’s only Grade I listed building.

The photo presentation examines the work that has been done on the stonework over the years and chronicles many changes to the interior as well as providing a guided tour of the church as it is today.

Many of the photographs are old and date back to the 19th century.

The disc runs for an hour and is available from Walkers bookshop in North Street, priced at £9.99 or by visiting www.bourne-lincs.org.uk.
