FORMER Stamford School pupil Colin Dexter OBE returned to his former school for the annual Old Stamfordian Reunion Weekend.

Colin, the creator of the world famous Inspector Morse series of books, on which the television series is based, was awarded honorary life membership of the Old Stamfordian Club by club chairman Ian Plant.

Colin attended Stamford School between 1941 and 1948.

He is a patron of Campaign for Stamford, the Stamford Endowed Schools’ fundraising campaign which raises money to fund new performing arts facilities, as well as additional means-tested bursaries.
