NEARLY 200 people flocked to an open gardens event in a village which is held annually.
The fundraising event in Kirkby Underwood on Sunday raised £1,150, which will be split between the church and the village hall for their upkeep.
Event secretary Anthony Andrews, of Callans Lane, Kirkby Underwood, said it was a great success.
He was pleased with how it went and said: “The weather was particularly kind and the two flypasts by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, a Spitfire then the Lancaster were seen from all the gardens being visited.
Mr Andrews added: “We would like to thank all who helped in any way and all who supported us.”
There was also a two-day flower festival held in the church at the weekend. This raised £200 which will also go towards church funds.
