Hundreds of happy children enjoyed themselves at a recent holiday club.

The Adventure Cruise Holiday Club was held at Bourne Academy and run by Churches Together in Bourne.

The children were split into two teams, the whales and the sharks.

The three themes chosen for the club were: Choice – Jesus calling his disciples, Courage – Jesus walks on water and Change – Jesus calms the storm and is the creator.

All the quizzes and craft were based on these themes.

There was also a play based on the Watt Family and acting out of the bible stories for each of the themes.

The sessions were led by Andy McManus along with a band of helpers, ranging from teenagers to septuagenarians from Bourne Baptist Church, St Gilberts, the Methodist Church, Morton New Day and the Salvation Army.

On the last day and early in the
evening, there was a picnic held in the grounds of Cawthorpe Hall with more than 70 parents and children attending.

Roland Smith, who helped organise the event, said: “This is the seventh holiday club we have run and the feedback we get each year from the parents is that the children have had a great time and they can’t wait for next year’s holiday club to come round.”
