Hundreds take part in primary schools athletics events

More than 200 primary school children from the area took part in an athletics competition at Bourne Academy on Tuesday last week.

Teams from Bourne Westfield and Bourne Abbey, Edenham, Deeping St James, Langtoft and William Hildyard took part in the competition for children in Years 5 and 6.

School sport co-ordinator Clare Ladley: “It was a great atmosphere in the hall throughout the afternoon we had lots of very enthusiastic cheering.”

The winning school’s were Bourne Westfield A team and Edenham. Both schools are now invited to represent South Kesteven at the county competition in Lincoln in March.
