TOFT golfer Ian Moore struck a perfect hole-in-one in final round of the men’s Winter Medal Series at the weekend.
His shot on the eighth helped him to a net 65, enough to win the sixth round and take third place in the series.
Second on the day was James Joyce (net 69), third Steve Sutton (net 71) and fourth Paul Asher (net 72). Overall series winner is Adam Freear, ahead of Paul Taylor. Moore and Nick Garland.
l THE Winter Singles Knock-Out Cup, fought over five rounds, was decided by the final putt on the final green with Nigel Turnbull finally defeating Roy Lewis.
Turnbull also won the Winter Pairs Knockout in partnership with Paul Nicholson, beating the David Sharp and David Thomas.
l TOFT’s first club match of the season was played at Rutland County and ended with a convincing 6-2 win for the Rutland side.
