BABY Jack Dempsey is the apple of his mother’s eye - and his great great grandmother’s eye.
Betty Green, 84, of Bath Row, Stamford, was absolutely over the moon when her first great great grandchild was born on March 25.
Jack is the first born child of Jade Dempsey, 23, of Oakham, and her husband Leon, and represents the fifth generation in the family.
Betty, who has four children including Josie Smith, 63; seven grandchildren, including Jade’s mother Lisa Black, 45; and five great grandchildren, including Jade, said she never expected to see a fifth generation in the family.
Betty said: “I don’t know anyone else with five generations.
“I am very proud of all my family and it’s lovely to have Jack in the family now too.
“He is getting on really well.”
Much of Betty’s family still live in Stamford, where she has lived all her life.
Her husband Ron died in 2004 and Betty, who is known as nanny, said he would have loved to have met baby Jack.
And Jade said her son Jack, being the baby of the family, was showered with gifts and very spoiled.
