A former serviceman who raised hundreds of pounds with a headshave has handed over the proceeds to a wounded paratrooper.

John Sentance, 61, of Victoria Place, Bourne, raised £500 for Help For Heroes by having his head shaved in November.

Mr Sentance has presented the money to Pte Luke Morrison, of Stamford, who accepted the money on behalf of the charity. Pte Morrison was wounded while on patrol in Afghanistan in February. He lost his lower left leg and is walking with the aid of crutches

Pte Morrison and his parents Doug and Christine accepted the money in Bourne Royal British Legion.

Mr Sentence said: “I decided to do it for Help for Heroes as I was in the forces.

“I wanted to give something back.

“I was very happy with the amount raised and would like to thank everyone who donated.”
