KEEN wedding watchers were out early at a coffee morning in Ketton.

People young and old were at Ketton Sports and Social Club from 10am watching the events unfold on a big screen.

And as the first youngster there, six-year-old Holly Tipton was given a commemorative mug to remember the day.

Holly was excited about the wedding, although she had hoped to go to London on the day.

Organiser Joyce Bird said: “I’m a big royalist.

“I loved Diana and her wedding and I went to see where she was buried for my 60th birthday, so I’m very excited about today.”

Mary Thompson, who made posters and cakes, added: “It makes a change from all the bad news we’ve had recently, it’s great to have something to celebrate.”

A bring and buy sale was held, with profits going towards the Motor Neurone Disease Foundation and the air ambulance.
