A health charity has received a cheque for £1,000 raised by a drama group’s calendar girls recreation and performance.

Chairman Spalding and Bourne branch of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research Fund, Andy Fuller was presented with a cheque from Folksworth Players. The drama group raised the money at four performances of Calendar Girls last year with a raffle.

The cast also produced and sold 200 of their our own calendars featuring members of the cast. Local companies sponsored each month and the popular calendars sold out quickly.

Mr Fuller said: “To receive such a large sum of money for the fund was truly wonderful and the local committee would like to pass on it thanks to all concerned that organised and performed in the show.”
