Lincolnshire County Council launches scheme to share minibuses

SCHOOLS and community groups are being urged to hire out their minibuses.

Lincolnshire County Council has launched a community minibus brokerage project so not-for-profit groups can benefit from minibuses when they are not in use by their owners.

Executive member for highways and transportation Coun William Webb (Con) said: “Everyone’s a winner with this new scheme.

“Schools and community groups can earn a bit of extra money by hiring out their minibuses when they don’t need them, and other not-for-profit groups can benefit too.

“They will be able to go out on day trips and take part in more activities, without having the cost of purchasing a minibus.”

Organisations which sign up to the project can apply for £25,000 towards a new minibus.
