Bourne Arts and Community Trust, which runs Wake House in North Street, has received a £350 boost.

The money came from the Councillor Big Society Fund, which was introduced after county councillors decided to freeze their allowance budgets until 2013.

Each councillor gets £2,000 a year to give to good causes and Bourne county councillor Charlotte Farquharson (Con) decided to hand over £350 to Wake House.

She said: “Wake House covers such a wide range of community groups.

“I believe it’s a very good organisation to support and I want to see it keep going so they can be a focal point in the town.”

Wake House trustee Roy Miskelly said: “We are very pleased Coun Farquharson is supporting an organisation that facilitates activities for more than 40 groups in the town.”
