Groups are being urged to apply for grant funding of up to £10,000.
Lincolnshire Community Foundation has been awarded £35,600 from Comic Relief to provide essential funding to groups in Lincolnshire during 2013-14.
It is awarding the cash through its local communities grants programme, which is open to community groups, resident associations, community centres, credit unions, social enterprises and community interest companies.
Grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 are available, and projects should be run by people directly affected by the issues they are dealing with.
Priority will be given to small, locally-based groups or organisations in areas of disadvantage that have a clear understanding of the needs of their community.
Lincolnshire Community Foundation’s grants manager Sue Fortune said: “We want these grants to empower local people, enabling them to create lasting change in their communities.
“The local communities grants programme will be offering grants of £1,000 to £10,000, and we will be looking for applications that show how a small amount of money will make a big difference.
“We welcome applications for a range of initiatives, from community sport activities, to community employment projects, to food co-ops.”
