The Mercury has teamed up with the Sainsbury’s store in Stamford to bring you a great competition in this week’s paper.
Five readers can each win £200 in Sainsbury’s vouchers, yes FIVE. That’s a total prize value of £1,000.
The competition coincides with a range of improvements which have been made at the supermarket, on the Markham Retail Park off Ryhall Road.
Customers can expect a wider range of quality products, with more than 900 new grocery items on the shelves.
The additions are across a wide range of products, from kitchen essentials such as oils, vinegars and gravy mixes to sweet treats, like new chocolate popcorn. The new additions are sure to suit many tastes.
All the improvements have been made following feedback from customers.
Store manager Gail Scarlett said: “We always listen to our customers to see how we can improve our service to Stamford residents.
“With our increased food range, we hope it provides our customers with a better choice of great products at affordable prices and we look forward to receiving their feedback on the new range”.
It’s now been more than a year since Sainsbury’s opened in Stamford.
With improvements to its product ranges set to help fulfil a customer’s weekly or monthly shop, the store is now looking to also provide great service to the local community.
The store has already formed strong links with Stamford Foodbank, which provides food to needy and vulnerable people in the area. Last year, it was announced that the foodbank would be the store’s local charity partner for the year.
The store regularly provides the charity with food items donated by customers.
This drop-off service will remain available for customers to choose to make a food donation until May.
Monetary support has also been provided thanks to donations from customers and staff, with a cheque from £365 presented to the charity at the start of 2013.
Other charities and groups have also benefited from donations during the last few months, with several prizes donated to support local charity Christmas parties during December.
The 130 staff at the store are now aiming to “Do Something Funny for Money” for Red Nose Day on Friday, March 15.
It all adds up to an exciting time for the staff.
Gail added: “Many of my team here are from Stamford and with our exciting new product range, we’re really now looking to taking our service to our customers and community to the next level”.
To enter the competition, simply buy the Mercury on Friday, fill in the competition coupon and send it to us.
