A New Year’s Eve celebration party has raised more than £1,100 for charity.

A disco and raffle was held at Ryhall Village Hall to raised funds in aid of the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.

The event was organised by Roland Neal, who lives in Empingham Road, Stamford, with his son Martyn, and both were delighted that more than 120 turned out to join in the fun to help a good cause.

The pair are both bikers and wanted to do their bit for the air ambulance as they know how important the service can be in emergency situations.

Roland, who is a DJ and provided the music on the night, said: “We were absolutely chuffed with how it went.

“We only expected to raise a couple of hundred pounds so to raise more than £1,100 is great.

“We had a big countdown for New Year on the big screen and a few games for everyone. It was a real family evening.”

Prizes in the raffle included tickets for paintball sessions, golfing breaks and much more.

Roland added: “Our thanks go to everyone who helped make it such a successful event.”
