£5.5m could be spent repairing potholes in Lincolnshire

COUNCIL chiefs are considering pouring an extra £5.5m into repairing potholes across Lincolnshire.

Lincolnshire County Council’s executive announced yesterday at a meeting to consider its budget that it had £2.7m more than expected from council tax, as well as £2.8m from the Government settlement grant.

It wants to use this money to repair potholes and will set its full budget on February 11.

The council has an estimated backlog of £300m repairs around the county.
