A busy new year for paramedics

While most were celebrating New Year’s Day it proved a challenging time for East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

The ambulance service was busy responding to a variety of emergencies.

In the first four hours of New year’s Day 1,074 calls were received, raising to 3,223 for the day, exceeding the daily average but slightly down on the previous year.
