A BUILDING firm has opened a community of affordable bungalows.

GS Robinson held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for residents of the new homes in Stephen’s Way, Deeping St James on Friday.

The bungalow tenants, who all have connections to the Deepings, all moved in together about two weeks ago.

GS Robinson managing director, Terry Robinson, said: “We decided that we would build 11 bungalows to rent and give first preference to local people.

“By having a ceremony and welcome meeting a nice little community has emerged.

“It is fitting that the preference was given to Deeping people or families of Deeping residents.”

Stephen’s Way was named after Mr Robinson’s father Steve and a plaque will be installed on the new site in his and his wife Margaret’s memory.
