A man has been airlifted to hospital after falling from his horse near Oakham.
On Saturday morning a 53 year-old man fell off his horse and was knocked unconscious.
The Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance was called to the incident.
Emergency services have not released the exact location of the accident but said due to the remote location of the incident the air ambulance was best equipped to deal with the situation as there was no access for land vehicles.
The crew landed at about 10am.
On arrival the patient stood up. He had no obvious injuries, but the man was in a state of confusion.
The man was lowered onto a stretcher and given a collar and head blocks.
He was also given an anti-emetic to prevent vomiting.
He was then transferred to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham for further assessment.
The man’s condition has not been released.
