Antiques experts were on hand to value a number of items at an event that was held in aid of charity Rutland WaterAid.

The valuation day was held by Tennants Auctioneers at Uppingham Town Hall on Tuesday and more than £600 was raised for the charity.

Visitors paid £3 to get their item valued by Marc Allum, of BBC’s Antiques Roadshow, and Nigel Smith, of BBC’s Bargain Hunt.

The charity supports clean water sanitation projects in Mali. Fundraising committee member Charlotte Baker said: “It was a lovely day and there was a lovely atmosphere. We were quite pleased with how much was raised.”
