Art attack in Oakham

SCULPTURES, paintings and even sound art are some of the pieces on display in a new exhibition.

The Gallery at the Vale of Catmose College in Oakham is once again running its open art exhibition to help shoppers pick up an excellent present for their loved ones.

A total of 106 artists from across the East Midlands were whittled down to 91 to feature in the display.

The exhibition includes 150 works including prints, textiles and a pyramid charting an artists’ family tree which includes sound clips.

Arts officer Abigail Bishop said: “There is a wide range of superb works of art ranging from 37 to 4,000 so it suits all sizes of pockets.

“It is great to get original works of art as Christmas presents.”

The Gallery is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 5.30pm.
