Coffee shop staff have donated coppers from their tips tray to a charity appeal.

Staff at Beans Coffee Shop in Stamford have been saving the coppers they earned this year for the Histiocytosis Research Trust.

The team chose to support the charity after taking part in a fundraising event
earlier this year by posting an Easter egg in their shop window for a trail around the town

The event was part of a fundraising campaign launched by Paul and Andrea Scholes, of Kesteven Road, Stamford, in memory of their son Oliver who died of a rare blood disorder at the age of two.

Beans manager Tammy Ferry said: “As a mum of two my heart goes out to the Scholes family and it was an easy decision to choose such an important charity to support this year.”

Staff also hosted a raffle to win a hamper and have raised around £50 altogether.

Oliver’s mum Andrea, a reporter with the Mercury, said: “We’re grateful to Tammy and her team for donating their hard-earned tips to our charity this year.”
